Amator

Amator is the brainchild of my good friend, Emily Sadeghian. It’s a “lovingly-made, highly subjective newsletter delivered directly to your inbox.” The newsletter is the product of collaboration between artists, writers, scientists, teachers, and more.

We pick a theme each month and then write, curate, and create within that space.

To give you a sense of the output of the collaborative and iterative process the Amator team uses, our issue on “gravity” included: a poem about the density of a moment, books about lightness and weight, a physicist's take on gravity, a piece about how Pollock used gravity as his instrument, and the grave history of a city. Essentially, we’re selecting a theme and addressing it from a bunch of different angles.

You can visit the Facebook page to get a sense of the content and view the images below to get a sense of the feel of the newsletter.
